In New South Wales, Australia and with an elevation of 709m, Mount Panorama over looks the town of Bathurst, and is perhaps better known as the home of "The Great Race", the Bathurst 1000. Where in October of each year (and in February for the Bathurst 12 Hour) the public road is closed-off to make up the circuit which is, today, 6.213km with 23 turns (pre-1987: 6.172km with 20 turns), and still renowned for having one of 'the fastest corners' in touring car racing.
Since 1938, the mountain has been testing the nerve of, and occasionally succumbing to, motor sport racing legends such as Dick Johnson, Jim Richards, Peter Brock, Doug Chivas, Larry Perkins, Allan Moffit, Mark Skaife, just to name a few...
Just as The Great Race as evolved over the years (from a 500mi to a 1000km race, and an increase in the circuit length in 1987), along with the racing tech of the cars, just as our showcase of available scaled replica models that pay tribute to these racing greats continues to grow too.
